Hoppy Easter Cards

Happy Weekend!  I’m part of a card swap with some great ladies at work.  There are 8 of us who try to do a swap every few months.  Each swap these ladies get better and better and continue to up the crafty challenge.  I spent my day today making these cards.

I didn’t have an Easter stamp and I really wanted to use a bunny (I have been really loving bunnies this season) so instead of buying something, I decided to search for a printable image.  I found this free printable on Pinterest and went to work.  It was a long process, way longer than it should have been because my printer was, of course, out of ink.  Anyway, after getting that situated, I printed off these cute bunnies and distressed the edges and inked with Ranger Distress Ink in Vintage Photo.  I love the way it matched the colors in the bunny.

I picked up some pretty note cards during my weekly trip to Hobby Lobby.  I found these My Mind’s Eye cards in the clearance bin.  The colors worked perfectly and allowed me to skip the step of making card bases.  Next, I cut and embossed polka dots on 2″ x 5 1/2″ strips to layer on top of the cards.

I used my Stampin Up Botanical Builders framelits to cut out these flowers and leaves.  I used Blushing Bride for the flowers and Pistachio Pudding for the leaves (these are my favorite spring colors right now).

I gave the flowers and leaves a spray with Silver Glitter Dust.  I am in love with the shimmer this adds.

Next, I put everything together in assembly line fashion.  That’s always the fun part, watching it all come together.  The final card I made used another free printable .  This one was from Jannette Lane’s blog.  The tiny blue pattern was a piece of digital paper and it worked perfectly with the soft spring colors.  I cut a quick card base from this pattern paper and decorated the top like the other cards.  Finally, every card got 2 flat back pearls in the corner, as well as one in the center of each flower.

Well thanks for stopping by and taking a look.  I’m going to try to post a look at these cards as well as a quick haul this weekend over on my YouTube channel so stop by there and take a peek.  I hope you have a “Hoppy Weekend”!
